Christian Kotsis was born in 1984 and completed his Master of Arts with honours at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Prof. Adler, Prof. Meier and Prof. Nickler. Masterclasses he joined with Prof. Kahry and Maestro Alessandro Corbelli.
In 1994 he made his stage debut at the “Theater an der Wien” as the little crown prince Rudolph in the musical “Elisabeth” before joining the Vienna Boys‘ Choir as an alto soloist. So he sang the „Zweiter Knabe“ in the Magic Flute at the State Opera Vienna and participated in successful national and international tours of Mozart’s musical comedy “Bastien & Bastienne”, in which he performed the role of “Colas”. Amongst other things he performed with Maestra Grossmann and Maestro Muti during the 500-year-anniversary of the Vienna Boys’ Choir.
Next to his wide repertoire of Lied & Oratorium he has added roles such as “Papageno” (The Magic Flute), “Guglielmo” (Così fan tutte), „Don Alvaro“ (Il viaggio a Reims), „Kilian“ (Freischütz), „Scolari“ (Il mondo della luna), „Feuerwehrmann“ (Biedermann und die Brandstifter). While he was on Tour in January 2015 he sang the role of „Dr. Falke“ (Fledermaus) in Germany and made his debut as „Maestto“ (Don Giovanni) with the Greve opera academy and music festival in Italy. His leading roll as „Guglielmo“ (Cosi fan tutte) was in spring 2017. In May 2018 he gonna make an other debut as „Graf Boni“ (Die Csárdásfürstin) in Bozen (Italy). The Bach Concert-series in the USA with the Connecticut Chamber Orchestra are the most recent addition to his artistic career.
